Hi, I'm a newbie here... (and i'm not pretty good in english, so please, be cool with me...)I'd like to make a new paint for one of my plane (on fs9). I simply tested to change with photoshop the "*.bmp" of texture directory. than I choose the plane with her new texture and FS9 stops... i don't understand why. Could you explain that for me? I must have an other program to make this ? What can I do ?thx for your anser(s) !Jack

Hey Jack, welcome to the world of repainting! :)Are you trying to view the paint scheme in flight sim just by placing the bmp from photoshop in to the texture folder? If so, you're correct in guessing that you need another program. All bmps need to be converted for flight sim use, to do this a good program to use is "DXTBmp". Here is a tutorial I made just for this question: Click

So, one more question... ;-)Where can I find a free "blank" texture (texture which is as same as the plane before painting) ?thx to answer !Jack

Depends what model you're painting really. Developers like POSKY usually have paintkits available from their website. Others have them up on avsim.. some don't have any at all (although thats pretty rare these days)
