FSD 337 Layers

Featured Replies

Gday allHave been having a little trouble with the FSD forum, so thought I would drop in and ask a quick question.Regarding the 337 paint kit - On the Fuse2 and Wing textures there is a "Base" layer included, while this layer is absent in the Fuse1 texture. I was wondering whether anyone had experience with including the "Base" layer when constructing the repaint; I noticethat on the default paints it appears not to have been, whereas on some repaints it appears to have been included, giving the wings in particular a darker, grey appearance. Any help would be greatly appreciatedCheers

I haven't done any C337 repaints.. well I was doing a photoreal paint kit but I moved on, so I don't know how much of a help this will be.Looking at the kit, the panel lines and the shading on the wings at least appear to be very dark. This is common with the FSD paintkits and usually require a hefty reduction in the opacity to get them looking remotely realistic. Its always good to compare to real photos to get a sense of how visible they should be.For example: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1123206/L/ On the wings, I think reducing the "base" layers opacity to around 15% works ok although you could get rid of it. Then reducing the opacity on the layers "Photoreal_lines_rivets_ect" and "Layer6" to about 20% gives an ok result. You'd need to cut out those things on top of the wing (fuel caps?) to have them separate to keep their opacity. In short, it may require a bit of experimenting :)
