Small Texture Problem

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, hope you can help me here too - I'm having a small problem getting "transparent" windows. I've been able to "fix" an older plane to get windows to show transparently, but I am having a problem with the main windshield to get to show properly. I tried doing everything that I can, and I just get the picture that they used for it to not be transparent. Tried 32 bit, DXT3, and even mip maps, no luck. I can't remember for the life of me what I did to get the windows to work. I'm trying to update this for the community to be able to use, so any help is greatly appreciated. I'll keep an eye on this thread and thanks in advance. (By the way, the color I'm using for the windows now, just shows up a solid color, no transparency, and no reflection. I know about the alpha for reflections though)Thanks in advance!John J. Thuot II

As far as I know most panel.bmp`s used for the main-window are bmps 24 bit or 8bit ,no DXT or 32 bit. They may be used as 256 or 16 milj colors. To get the window-part transparent, this must be RGB= 0.0.0 .If you use a 256 color BMP make sure palet index nr 0 = RGB 0.0.0FS chooses the palet index 0 to be transparent, when its 0.0.0Make sure not to use 0.0.0 on other places on the texture to avoid " peep-holes"RegardsLeen de Jager
