MAAM DC-3 bare textures problem

Featured Replies

Hi,I just started my hand at repainting. I'm trying to start with the MAAM DC-3 cargo version.I have the paint kit with the various templates. Here is what I'm doing, but it's not working.I take the base texture of the cargo DC-3. Copy it and rename it to my new version (texture.XX for example). I add the entry in the config file by copying the existing entry, and modifying it for the the new version. As a test I open FS9 to see if it's loaded and it loads perfectly. So now I go back and gett the paint kitbare textures to copy over into my new texture file by renaming the bare texture to match and overrite the existing texture in my new texture file. I also copy over the alpha channel files. But when I open fs9 again th check the newly created blank model, it shows up as just gray, no texture? The crazy thing is that if I open it in FS REPAINT it shows up fine and looks like a bare texture DC-3, but when in FS9 it's just blank gray. Question, what do I do with the aplha textures from the kit? Do I just paste those into my new texture file?any thoughts?

Hi James :)Alpha channels are binded with the bmp and, as you probably know, control the level of reflection/chrome produced on the model.Have a look at this tutorial, hopefully its of some use:ClickI've got other tutorials and a repaint walkthrough on the same site (link above my signature).
