Cannot uninstall FS2002! (among other problems)

Featured Replies

This is really bizarre, annoying, absolutely uncalled for

Hi JPErr try this carefullyRename your scenery.cfg file to scenery.bak or something similarRestart fs2002 it should build a new scenery.cfg fileLet me know if that fixes it; if all else fails just put original back, renaming back to .cfgSun

I don't think fs2002 will load at all removing the scenery.cfg file. Try searching for multiple traffic.bgl files. Use "traffic" as the search word without extensions, etc. If you have multiple copies, it will confuse the scenery database engine and it will try to make a new listing. If that doesn't work, you can retrieve the default scenery.cfg from your fs2002 CDs using an unzipping program. Search the *.cab files for scenery.cfg and extract to your fs2002 folder. This however will not fix your problem if you have multiple copies of files that confuse the scenery database engine. As far as trying to uninstall fs2002, it seems your system has lost it focus of where the uninstall program resides. You could try reinstalling over the present copy, change fs2002.exe to fs2002.ORIGINAL and try a reinstall. It may or may not allow you to do this. If it allows you to do this, you may want to completely uninstall, delete any residual fs2002 folders, then reinstall a fresh copy. The only other way to remove fs2002 is to manually delete the entries in the system registry, then delete the fs2002 folder.
