a add on helper for flightsim!

Featured Replies

Hello everybody! I am totally new here on this forum.I am a newly certified flight instructor with instrument rating in the USA.I am very interested in the usage of MS flightsim to practice instrument flying and procedures. My only problem with this is that I have to use the sensitive joystick and trim buttons wich by any means is not the objective for my usage of the flightsim. So what I am looking for is if anybody out there know if there might exist a add on program or something that would do something like:- Autotrim- Make it simple to initiate climbs, decents, level offs and simular. It would have been great if I could use the arrows for standard rate turns, and steady state climbs and decents. And then a button to automaticly trim the plane out!Hope somebody have anything that they know about. Thanks in advance!

Yeah its called autopilot or autotrim if the aircraft has a devoted system to it. No offence but how the heck did you get a certified instructor license without knowing the answer to that.

The Navy uses a program for instrument training called the "Radio Instrument Orientation Trainer" (RIOT). I think you can probably find it on the internet. If you can't, let me know and I'll see if I can help. It's not really a flight simulator, but it has the features you're looking for. It will "hold" a specified altitude, airspeed, and heading, allowing the student to focus on the gauges. I'm no expert on it, but some of my buddies found it helpful for learning to fly instruments.
