Opinions requested on SSW's Moscow Global Scenery

Featured Replies

Fellow Russian aviation enthusiasts, I need your help!I have seen the screenshots of the Moscow Global Scenery package from SSW and am very impressed. What I am not too impressed with is the response from the company itself after reading the message boards. So will any of you who have this package please comment on it and your experiences with SSW. I have seen update patches for the product refered to but when I try to find them on their website the files are not there. So I am a bit worried that a) If I order the product will SSW actually fulfill the order and :( Where does one find the updates for it.I also see they have a freeware Sochi scenery available but have been unable to get a response from SSW when trying to register on their website so I can download it.Any feedback is appreciated!Regards,Trevor

Trevor, the latest version of Sochi is also available at avsim.ru :http://www.avsim.ru/files.phtml?action=download&id=2908The Moscow Global Scenery is well done for my taste and the price is not to steep, although Sheremetyevo doesn't have the latest and greatest design features. But there are a lot of town objects additionally, so it's nice for some sightseeing as well. But regarding airports the freeware Novisibirsk UNNT is still the best Russian airport you can get. UUEE just doesn't reach that atmosphere. The SSW support is next to non existent, but the download has worked with no problems in my case.Michael

Thanks for the input, Michael! I may just stick with the older UUEE2003 scenery for now. I am almost done with a pretty accurate AFCAD for it so no sense changing soon.Yes the UNNT scenery is excellent! I am also a huge fan of the Almaty package (I love the surrounding terrain).Do you happen to have the UTTT scenery loaded? All of my AI aircraft have sunk into the ground a few feet. I have tried to raise the airport elevation via AFCAD2 to compensate but have had no luck. Any help would be appreciated.Regards,Trevor

Trevor,I have UTTT, but no AI traffic. I have to admit, I don't have the slightest idea about this A traffic and AFCAD stuff.I was really happy about the UNNT traffic package. Just an easy installer to get AI traffic in Novisibirsk, Omsk and Perm. Great stuff, I have met almost the entire Russian aviation at this airports :)Michael

I have been bitten by a bit of the AI traffic bug lately. I now have 149 airlines loaded up and am searching for more all the time. Right now I am concentrating on finding and loading more Russian and CIS airlines than anything else.If you want an easy way to start, look into the packages from ProjectAI (www.projectai.com) and SKJ (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/sergs.skj/SKJ%20ActiveAITraffic/main.htm).Trevor

I have just recently purchased UUEE (MGS) from the SSW site (not Simmarket). No support was needed - which is a good thing. Works just fine. Very frame rate friendly. I would recommend it. Go flying in winter and you will see snow banks. Very cool.
