January 26, 200323 yr I recently purchased the GeForce4 MX400 Video card. However, the "NVidia installation driver" with the card is the 40.72.Does anybody know how I can install the 30.82 drivers (GOING BACKWARDS IN SERIES). When I try to install the 30.82 it won't detect the card.I have had flawless experience with the 30.82 and as far as I know, they are the only ones that are 100% Microsoft certified.Any help anywhere? Thanks Darryl
January 26, 200323 yr Visit http://www.guru3d.com/ to the NVidia driver section and go to page 3.Also while you are there, get the necessary tools to remove your old drivers and information on how to setup your system to receive the new drivers. It is very important to follow these directions.I really find it hard to believe the 40.72 wouldn't install on your computer since NVidia is using a unified driver covering all their chips from TNT to GeForce 4. January 27, 200323 yr Darryl, i am presently using a GF4MX440 with the 30.82 drivers and i have to say these still give the best all round stability and performance.I did initially try the 41.09 drivers with little success, how did i "go down" in drivers"?1) Open control panel and go to the "ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS" icon and open it.2) When the list loads, find the "NVIDIA WINDOWS 2000/XP DISPLAY DRIVERS" and click on the "ADD/REMOVE" button.3) When the PC ask's you to reboot, do so and after rebooting install the 30.82 drivers in the usual manner. The above has worked well for me, hopefully this will for you too.
