Engine Mode Selector

Recommended Posts

I read the PSS manual, but I was still wondering what the CRANK on the engine mode selector is used for, it is not described in the manual.michi2nd Officer, Lufthansa Virtual AirlineLH455

Crank is used for motoring the engine without the intention of actually starting it. Its used mostly by maintenance for purposes of performing leak and operational checks as its uses to flight crews are limited. In crank mode, the ignition excitors are de-energized and fuel is not allowed to pass the fuel control unit (or fuel management unit on CFM engines) into the manifold.
