Glide slope not activating.

Recommended Posts

Hi All:When I first installed my PSS fleet, I had no problem capturing the GS. Now all craft (A3xx series and the Dash 8) are unreliable. I catch the LOC alright, but the GS gets the * and does nothing. I am coming in at the correct altitude to capture, but the GS* sign doesn't change. By the time the GS* lights, I am already above the airport. Was always very reliable, but now I'm hand landing every flight with any of the PSS line (lazy). Any help appreciated.Steve

Have you downloaded the latest AIRAC cycle 0703 second release? The first release had lots of problems. Also, as part of your descent checks you should always have a quick look at LSK3L on the RAD NAV page of the MCDU to check that the ILS freq is showing.Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual airbus@speedbirdonline.co.ukhttp://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk

Thanks for the reply Rob. Yes the MCDU is set to the proper freq. but I haven't updated the AIRAC. I will try that. Hmmm, come to think of it, most of these problems started with the last AIRAC update.
