February 7, 200323 yr Hey Gang! For those of you who have not yet noticed, we have the greatest MD-80 freeware addon for the flight simulation series out and available. These guys nailed this baby!!!! It flies superbly, it looks beautiful, and it is simply an amazing contribution. Thank you very much folks!!!!Now to the observations:1. The sounds are horrible!!! Once the aircraft passes 90 - 100kts, the air rushing sound totally messes up into static. I deleted the sounds and installed the default MD-80 sounds, so for me, this is not a big deal.2. The nose needs to be a tad rounder for the MD-80. This one looks a tad pointy to me!! Again, not a big deal to me!3. The spoilers do not automatically deploy upon touchdown. Now!!! This is a big one!!! I noticed a couple of replay landings and in none of the landings the spoilers deployed automatically upon touchdown, even though the spoilers were armed. How can I fix this?Other than that, this plane is magnificent and looks awesome! Great addition. I can't wait for a Delta Old Colors scheme to come up.Thanks again!Sincerely,Dennis D. February 7, 200323 yr I've noticed that I can never get the spoilers to deploy when set for auto deploy...no matter what airplane I'm using. To fix the sound, all you have to do is delete just one .wav file.
February 7, 200323 yr I'm only a model guru, so I'm afraid I'm dumbfounded about the spoilers. However, I will look into it never the less.On the sounds, we have a fix for it. It'll be in the new zip file we're uploading now.The nose will be fixed in a future version which will be a completely new model built from scratch.Sorry for the troubles though. In wanting to get the files uploaded, we accidentally uploaded the wrong zip files which are missing files, have outdated files, wrong readme file, and wrong repaint policy.
February 7, 200323 yr "Sorry for the troubles though."No need to be sorry! I think it's a great aircraft, and anything given for free with such artistic value--well, I'd take it warts and all. The nose doesn't look that far off anyway. About the only thing I have noticed, and it's minor, is that the pax windows are a tad too far below cocpit level--perhaps six inches or so. I think the AA livery shows this best, as you can use the lines of the stripes as the lead to the cockpit to gauge the window positions, them compare them to real shots.Still, this is a great effort, and a smooth rollout considering all this model contains.... Regards,John
February 7, 200323 yr Hey Jonathan! No sweat man! As I said in my post, I think this is a magnificent contribution from you guys. This is the best MD-80 so far for FS2002 - My 2 cents.Sincerely,Dennis D. Mullert Sincerely, Dennis D. Müllert System Specs: MoBo: MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi ATX AM5. CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D. February 7, 200323 yr Ah, I was wondering where the files went! I downloaded the Hawaiian air livery last night and took it out for a spin around Honolulu... most impressive! Paul Golding's panel works reasonably well in FS2K2, just don't open up the overhead panel if you want your engines to continue working... I commented it out entirely in the panel.cfg. Also, I switched to an older MD-80 sound set, but I will definitely try out the newer files once they're uploaded.Great job, can't wait til the files are ready! :-jumpy
