Landing with autothrottle

Recommended Posts

Hi,I read somewhere that we're supposed to land the B777 with autothrottle engaged, and that at around 25ft the throttle will go to idle. This works perfectly on an ILS approach, but when doing a visual it doesn't work, with the aircraft trying to maintain speed. Is ths correct? Or am I supposed to go to manual throttle on a visual approach? Thanks in advance...- daniel
