Loading Flight Plans into FMC

Recommended Posts

Guest rod44

I normally create my flightplans in FSNavigator and then export them in FS2004 format. When I open them in FS Flightplanner there are no probems with the route shown correctly. In the 777 FMC I request a route choose the relevant FS flightplan and then activate and execute. What I am finding is that while the take off portion of the flight plan works fine my legs page shows that as soon as I get to my cruising altitude of FL350 (typically) all other waypoints are set to FL350 ie no descent or landing altitudes and there is no final runway entry.I have tried mutiple different flightplans and airports and reloaded the 777 just in case there was any corrupted navdata files but to no avail.Has anyone else seen this and is there a solution. Or am I just doing something dumb.ThanksRod

>Rod,>>Have you gone to dep/arr page and selected an arrival runway?>FMC cannot plot descent without an arrival 'target'>>regards,>Mark>http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg>XPHomeSP2/FS9.1/3.2HT/1024mb/X700pro256I obviously made the mistake of assuming that it worked like other FMC's and imported the entire flightplan from FS including the arrival runway. It now seems to be giving me a decent path until close to the runway when I am consistently getting dicontinuities I assume that is due to the various STARS I use being out of sync. Thanks for your help.Rod
