Issue with UTX review screenshots

Featured Replies

Is it just me, or is there something wrong with a number of the screenshots of UTX USA/Canada in the new review of UTX/GEX? It looks to me as if there might have been problems with the installation of UTX before GEX was added. The default FSX roads and coastlines are still visible in the UTX screenshots, causing lots of doubling of features. In the UTX/GEX screenshots, though, these problems are gone. Since GEX only provides replacement textures, it seems like something must have changed in the ordering of the scenery elements in the scenery.cfg file between the two sets of screenshots in order to explain the difference. For example, in these shots of San Francisco, there are duplicate roads and a duplicate coastline in front of the Presidio in the second screenshot, and the Golden Gate Bridge does not line up with the UTX roads. These problems are gone in the third screenshot.

http://www.avsim.com/pages/0508/MultiScene/FSX_USA_01_thumb.jpghttp://www.avsim.com/pages/0508/MultiScene/UTX_USA_01_thumb.jpghttp://www.avsim.com/pages/0508/MultiScene/UTX_GEX_USA_01_thumb.jpg

There are similar issues in these shots of Quebec City:

http://www.avsim.com/pages/0508/MultiScene/FSX_CAN_04_thumb.jpghttp://www.avsim.com/pages/0508/MultiScene/UTX_CAN_04_thumb.jpghttp://www.avsim.com/pages/0508/MultiScene/UTX_GEX_CAN_04_thumb.jpg

For the full resolution shots, see the review here.
