Guys,Just updated the flight map for the overnight legs for both teams:http://www.avsim.com/~mattj/map/Team AVSIM are currently on Malta, having touched mainland Europe in Greece at Kalamata. They are now enroute to Algeria to touch Africa, and then do the Atlantic crossing to South America and then up.Team FS.Com are currently in Australia, having hit Darwin.AVSIM need to hit Africa (which is going to happen in the next hour or so) and South America.FS.Com need to hit South America.Good luck, teams!--MattJ

I,m on the tarmac at daua holding short on rnwy 22on vatsim calsign TCA3030, never used it before (will I see you come in?) got sb and models installed everything seems to be working ok but its pretty quiet here I figure I can make it to GQPT keeping safely in the time limit.Floyd

But I guess this could be an impetus for me to go explore the VATSIM thingee.For the last leg, since we've been escorting recently,How about a huge AVSIM mass formation flight from Myrtle Beach to Boston?As we fly past Washington DC give those air defense guys a big Pearl Harbor type raid scare :) I remember a few years ago at Oshkosh a whole bunch of Cessnas banded together somewhere and flew a huge formation flight (60-70 cessnas I think) thru Chicago center to Oshkosh WI for EAA fly-in/expo. I think Chicago center gave them special handling for the event. It was all coordinated of course.Wouldn't that freak out the FS guys :) ?I guess I have another question, let's say you're escorting, and the primary guy crashes / runs out of fuel or some other mishap. Can the escort now become the primary and finish the flight???I'm thinking more along the lines of dual glider cross countries where two pilots in two gliders find an area of lift, once they reach a safe altitude, one guy stays in the lift area, the other guy (the "scout") proceeds on the cross country looking for the next lift area, once he finds one the one left behind joins the scout, both climb back up to altitude, swap roles, continue, etc... It makes soaring a much more enjoyable sport when you've got two. But I guess totally unrelated and off topic now...Hmm... more things to cover in the rules the next time we do this... This has been an enjoyable event. Thanx for Matt for starting this race. and thanks to all here who have really made it interesting. I don't normally post much here (just lurk around the corner alot) but it really has been fun.Woodreau / KMVL
