Simconnect Trouble Shooting -- PLEASE HELP!

Recommended Posts

Guest byoung

I have double checked my settings and locations of the configuration files and for some reason the Simconnect Sample Apps will not connect and work.I have even use the ActiveSky X Simconnect trouble shooting guide with no luck. Still can't get it to work.Any ideas what specifically to check? Is there a sample application that (ie AI tracking) etc that will give me a log of what the problems is.Anyone have a check list of what to check to get Simconnect working? Thanks!Barry

>I have double checked my settings and locations of the>configuration files and for some reason the Simconnect Sample>Apps will not connect and work. For normal Simconnect operation on the same PC as FSX you need no configuration files. SimConnect is installed when you install FSX, and should just work "out of the box".>Any ideas what specifically to check? Is there an "Add-Ons" menu in FSX? If so, SimConnect is working fine.RegardsPete

Thanks Pete,I am trying to connect / Configure it for Network Operations...I have installed the Simconnect client on my laptop and think I have all the configuration files configured correctly. In the ActiveSky X Networked configuration documentation (I have followed the recommendations, sharing folders etc), It mentions a sample app to test it. I can't get the sample app to connect. And there is no log on the client to see what is happening.Again, Pete, thanks for your help! As Always, you are awesome!Barry

>I am trying to connect / Configure it for Network>Operations...Ah. You should'a said! ;-)>I have installed the Simconnect client on my laptop and think>I have all the configuration files configured correctly."All"? There are only two needed:A SimConnect.xml file in the same folder as your FSX.CFG file on the Server.A SimConnect.cfg file on the Networked client, either in the same folder as your SimConnect application (not advised), or, better, in your "My Documents" folder where it will be applied to all client applications.Show me these two files and I'll check them for you.RegardsPete
