CTD

Featured Replies

I am having random CTD's with Acceration when I try to access an item from the drop-down menus (alt). The whole thing just freezes and the hard drive runs continuously with the egg timer showing. Sometimes I receive an explorer error and then the sim restarts. If not I have to restart the system. I havent yet found a reccuring theme to this but it is becoming very annoying. I'm using a 7950gt card with the latest Nvidia drivers installed.Chris S

I was having the same problem but only when running in full screen mode. For the last week plus I've used FSX with Acceleration (I call it Aggravation at times) in Windowed mode without problems.Tonight, I was reading on another forum about new drivers released from NVidia, so I uninstalled the 163.71 Forceware drivers for the 7900 and installed the latest 163.75 drivers. Nope. When I went into FSX I was flying for a bit in Windowed mode. I made the switch to full screen mode, tried the menus and drop downs and promptly the system hung up to a blue screen of death, saying the problem was with n4_disp.dll file. Clicking on a suggested link took me to the Microsoft troubleshooting page which said the files get into a loop situation and freeze the system. So, it's back to windowed mode for me to avoid the problem. NVidia still has some work to do I think. bill
