November 20, 200619 yr Most of the AI aircrafts in fs2004 have a bumpy landing which removes the illusion of fragileness and makes them look pretty unrealistic. But I have observed that kingair 350 performs a nice flare and has a quite soft touchdown. I tried to, but couldn,t find the parameters in the aircraft.cfg which control the flare properties. Can someone let me know what all needs to be changed in cfg file to fix this without altering the landing speed and braking distance by much?
November 20, 200619 yr Hi,You can play with the Elevator Effectiveness scalar which will help some, but I haven't pinned down which variables make for a soft touchdown. And it *will* lengthen the landing roll. Increase the throttle_minimum (make more negative) and toe brakes scalar (more positive) to reduce it back.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
November 21, 200619 yr But then, as far as I know, by increasing the elevator effectiveness scalar, the takeoff distace will decrease, which again will kill the realism. I want to keep the physical parameters such as mass, lift scalars, etc close to real. Can anything else be done?
