December 5, 200619 yr Just wondering whether anyone else has problems with jagged/irregular horizons.I've attached a couple of examples of what I mean.I've got Active Sky, Ground Environment and Flight Environment installed plus soft horizon and a file called blue sky.I've tried various settings and permutations of these programmes but can't achieve a nice smooth horizon.Any suggestions folks?Frank
December 5, 200619 yr "Lower your visibility I keep mine at around 35 or so."The Horizon shouldn't look like that, even at the visibility limit of 150 miles which is where the vis is set in this attached pic. I am using "Soft Horizons", an add-on I wrote--and you can note how the terrain fades into the distance. But even without the add-on, the jagged horizon would not appear.Hopefully my post will bump the thread and someone with the same issue who has fixed it can post. I would try to clear all the weather settings first--see if the issue happens with no clouds and unlimited vis. If it does, it may be a graphics driver issue, or even a bad environment texture. Either "Soft Horizons" or Blue Sky might fix that.-Johnhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/162570.jpg
December 5, 200619 yr Commercial Member Hi there, looks to me as a low-angle view of the cross-shaped boundary between the "detailed world model" and the "basic world model", which can become more apparent with replacement textures like GE and FE.See my posts here: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/show...=water+problemsThat's one of the things that FSX has greatly improved on!Cheers, Holger
December 6, 200619 yr Author Thanks everyone for your advice.I've tried some of your suggestions but the problem remains. It's mainly apparent when the sun is just below or just above the horizon.I've attached a pix of another example.Perhaps it's a driver issue ... whatever ... I'll just keep on tweaking.
