'Soft Horizons' mod files and FE Sky?

Featured Replies

I am assuming if I use the 'soft horizons' mod files here in the AVSIM library that I will lose my FE selected sky tesxtures. Would I be right? Thanks,Glenn

If FE uses the same environment textures, yes.Regards,John - Author, Soft Horizons

I use both. Sometimes it will replace John's "Soft Horizons" files, but it only takes a few minutes to reload them into FS9. If you play around with FE's different cloud/water/sun settings and find a combination that suits you, then add "Soft Horizons", it can make for some stunning horizon haze effects. It will actually appear hazier when flying into the sun ,for example, just like in real life.I highly recommend both.John M

I do the same as John M. and find the two actually complement each other. Wouldn't be without them. And John is super about supporting Soft Horizons and answering questions.Bob

I was just looking at the files in the Flight 1 FE folder and comparing them to the files supplied with the soft horizons mod.It seems that all of the FE files will be overwritten by the soft horizons mod files, thus wiping out the FE selections.Maybe I am missing something?............Glenn
