ATC volume very low

Have noticed of late that the volume of the ATC is so low I really cannot make out what is being said. Went into the FS9 menus and set the volume level for ATC to 100% and backed off the cockpit sounds but to no avail,(also done this in some of the add-on menus). This sound drop seems to be across the board no matter what aircraft I am using. Have not installed anything new of late. I use the on board sound in the MB. Did a search on this but did not come up with anything.Ideas?Thanks,Joe
