Throttle Quadrant from CH Products

Recommended Posts

Guest mikehaska

I'd love a stand alone throttle, but not like the current one CH sells- I think that the "sliding action" it has isn't as neat as the ones that have arcing motion (like the Suncom and Saitek ones)I just bought an X45 from Saitek, and it'll be great! Great price too- $79.99 for a Throttle and Stick combo, with free UPS shipping...http://www.saitekusa.com/usa/prod/x45.htm

Hi!I would also really welcome a stand-alone Throttle quad. Rather than flood CH Products with emails initially, perhaps AVSIM could conduct a survey over this web site, maybe in conjunction with a competition to win a CH product sponsored by CH itself. The competition could be related to design/features/ideas. There are a lot of smart people out there who are into this hobby in a big way.As to what I would like to see, is probably a simple dual throttle version with prop and mixture, plus sufficient programmable buttons to cover starter, fuel flow/cut-off etc @ say USD 39-45, and a USD99-110 model with X4 throttle etc, plus sliders or wheels each side for trim tabs and a speed brake lever. A clip/grip arrangement could be employed to pair the levers if only a two engine craft was being operated, or just the middle pair if three engines.(I would certainly be a buyer of the simpler version if this was all that became available; but, even happier to spend a bit more than I have indicated to get a comprehensive piece of kit.)Mike

What features would we like to see on this Throttle Quadrant?I would like the following:- six levers that can be used as dual throttle, prop and mixture as wel as 4-engined jet (with 2 levers available for something else) These levers may all have indents for thrust reverse (and prop feather or fuel cutoff)- maybe extra levers for flap and landing gear.- USB interface and compatible with CH Yoke and Pedals.Of course it would need to be configurable through CH control manager. It would also be nice if you could select from within the sim how you want to assing the levers (twin piston or jet). Maybe that can be done through FSUIPC.Just my 2 cents.Allard.

Only way I'd buy it, it'd have to have 4 ind. throttles, flap lever(whatever kinda switch they could work out), speedbrake control(same here), and reverse detents. That'd be the minimum to make it really worth it.Oh yeah and a fully functional FMC.
