May 14, 200719 yr I have always wondered if this is something that has to be modeled or if it can be added via the aircraft.cfg? In particular I would like to add the windshield rain effect to the PSS 75 and 777.Any ideas? As always, thanks in advance,-PaulPrimary RigLiquid CooledIntel C2D E6600 @3.2 gigsAsus P5N32SLI-Plus2 gigs Corsair XMS PC6400 4 4 4 12 @810Dual OC'd XFX 8800GTX @ 2 gigs24 inch Widescreen LCD 16XAA/16XAFDual 19 inch LCD'sRaid-0+1PCPower and Cooling 1k Quad SLIhttp://home.comcast.net/~psolk/3monitorsa.htmlBackup RigAMD 4000 San Diego @ 2.72 Gigs Kingston Corsair XMS CL2XFX 7900 GTX Raid-0 Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
May 14, 200719 yr Nope I seem to remember that it's part of the model and has to be build in by the developer. Too bad it can't be added by hand because it really adds to the atmosphere.Rob "Holland&Holland" de Vries http://fool.exler.ru/sm/fly2.gifhttp://www.aussim.com.au/glasair/public/asg3_banner_03.jpg"To go up, pull the stick back. May 14, 200719 yr Author Thanks for the answer Rob. That is pretty disappointing considering a company like PSS didn't even add that little effect to their payware 75 and 777. I would really expect a payware model to include things like this. It is funny, they modeled working windshield wipers but what good is that if there is no water on the windshield ;).Thanks again,-Paul Primary RigLiquid CooledIntel C2D E6600 @3.2 gigsAsus P5N32SLI-Plus2 gigs Corsair XMS PC6400 4 4 4 12 @810Dual OC'd XFX 8800GTX @ 2 gigs24 inch Widescreen LCD 16XAA/16XAFDual 19 inch LCD'sRaid-0+1PCPower and Cooling 1k Quad SLIhttp://home.comcast.net/~psolk/3monitorsa.htmlBackup RigAMD 4000 San Diego @ 2.72 Gigs Kingston Corsair XMS CL2XFX 7900 GTX Raid-0 Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
May 14, 200719 yr It had something to do with a certain version of FS Design studio not being supporting FS2004 features (like windshield effect) at that time. GMAX did however support it all the way, but correct me if I'm wrong. The latest version of FSDS does support these FS2004 features but no one seems to be in the mood anymore to update/patch older designs as we are all destined to use FSX... May 14, 200719 yr Author Hey Rob, That is very good to know. I am guessing whoever is designing for PSS is either using the older version or doesn't know about the FS2004 features ;). Both their a/c came out fairly recently so there is no reason for them not to have it...-PaulPrimary RigLiquid CooledIntel C2D E6600 @3.2 gigsAsus P5N32SLI-Plus2 gigs Corsair XMS PC6400 4 4 4 12 @810Dual OC'd XFX 8800GTX @ 2 gigs24 inch Widescreen LCD 16XAA/16XAFDual 19 inch LCD'sRaid-0+1PCPower and Cooling 1k Quad SLIhttp://home.comcast.net/~psolk/3monitorsa.htmlBackup RigAMD 4000 San Diego @ 2.72 Gigs Kingston Corsair XMS CL2XFX 7900 GTX Raid-0 Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
May 14, 200719 yr hey that's weird, but perhaps there's another reason for not implementing them? Have you wrote the developer about this?Rob "Holland&Holland" de Vries http://fool.exler.ru/sm/fly2.gif"To go up, pull the stick back. To go down, pull the stick back harder"
May 14, 200719 yr Author Posted in their forums, only Steven (forum admin) responded saying he didn't know why then I wondered if it could be done generally and came here and learned something new :) -PaulPrimary RigLiquid CooledIntel C2D E6600 @3.2 gigsAsus P5N32SLI-Plus2 gigs Corsair XMS PC6400 4 4 4 12 @810Dual OC'd XFX 8800GTX @ 2 gigs24 inch Widescreen LCD 16XAA/16XAFDual 19 inch LCD'sRaid-0+1PCPower and Cooling 1k Quad SLIhttp://home.comcast.net/~psolk/3monitorsa.htmlBackup RigAMD 4000 San Diego @ 2.72 Gigs Kingston Corsair XMS CL2XFX 7900 GTX Raid-0 Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

May 14, 200719 yr Author You and me both, I almost get excited some days when I wake up and see the pouring rain knowing I am going to be leaving KEWR in a good storm. Then I climb into the PSS birds and nada it is like the widshield has an umbrella. Only LVL-D (which incidentally is much older than the PSS birds) and PMDG in the bad weather ;) Not cool!
