Scenery Files damaged

Featured Replies

Hi,when I was reinstalling FS04, I realized that some scenery-files are damaged and couldn't be copied/installed.I closely examined my FS04 CD4 and saw a small scratch appearently damaging the following .cab-files:Hongkong.cabKittyhwk.cabLasvegas.cabLa.cabMiami.cabNiagara.cabParis.cabPhoenix.cabSanfran.cabSydney.cabTokyo.cabEverytime I start FS now, there is an Errormsg for every single missing scenery file. This is pretty annoying and so I want to ask if anyone can send my these files via Email. Thanks,Regulator

hey i had the same problem tooplease could u give me and idea where i get the files from?

i would, but i have no idea myself. im playing FSX now and forgot about this issue.but now i will make a new effort. if i should succeed, you will be notified.

Time to buy another copy of FS9. Should be relatively cheap now. ;-)

Mike...

Yep, time to get another copy but, until you do, you can try to manually extract the files. Load up the CD and open the CAB file with WinZIP, WinRAR, or 7-Zip and you can extract the files directly. This is assuming that the CAB can be read off the CD in spite of the scratch. There is a file in the library here or at flightsim that contains an Excel Spreadsheet (xls) with the listing of all 40,000+ files and their locations on the different CD's. I'm at work and don't remember the name but if you can't find it let me know and I'll post the name of the file.Good luck.Steve

BINGO! That's it. Thanks Mike.

thanks all! all sorted now!
