Navdata information FS9

Featured Replies

What is the date of the navdata in FS9? I am looking for older charts, but I wanted to find the correct dates. Also, is there a way to update the nav frequency info (vor, ils, etc) that is free?

The data for FS9 is around 2002. You can edit airport info using Lee's AFCAD found here at Avism, file name afcad221.zip or link: http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=...hor=&CatID=rootThe whole concept of updating an airport, takes some time and work. AFCAD is an excellent tool to start with, however to get the airport working 100%, after making changes requires some time and effort. Here are a few pitfalls when using AFCAD.You can add NDB's at an airport using AFCAD, but you can't delete the stock NDB's, or edit its name / identifier. Workaround: set the default NDB to a freq of 0.0, then add a NDB over the stock NDB, then give it the correct name and ID. Same goes for ILS's and VOR's. You could fix this problem another way, but that would require you to decompile the default BGL's containing the airport info, editing it, then recompling it. Not recommended. You can add ILS's at an airport, however, if you fly IFR under ATC, ATC will not see the newly created ILS. You can fix this as well, but this requires you to write XML code to add the new ILS info for ATC to use. Very challenging to do, but can be done.If you add/remove taxi ways with AFCAD, then the taxi signs need work. AFCAD cannot move taxi way signs, nor edit them. You can fix this as well with other tools and some effort.Let me know if you need more info.Lee

FS2004 was released to the public in early July 2003.We've found changes made to airports in September 2002 which appear in FS2004, and we've found changes made in October 2002 which do not appear in FS2004.However, this is a BIGGIE, that is not true world wide. Some countries apparently have a several months delay in reporting changes. Some countries are very close to the estimated October 2002 date, some are six or more months earlier. Basically, the more active with commercial traffic, the more timely the data for the airport. We have been told by ACES on threads on these forums the data for FSX is April 2005.

excellent info guys! Thanks for the help!
