FS9 Install issue

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,I have posted this request at both Evolve's website and FTG so forgive me if you've seen it already.I've had huge problems with FS9 recently with it not loading up, basically hanging at the splash screen stage. Deleting the FS9.cfg file didn't have any joy so I've backed up the files such as addon ai and scenery and uninstalled the game with the intention of doing a fresh install. However when I put disk 1 in the drive I get an error message along the lines of "the file resource.dll is missing, .... cannot continue the install please reboot". We'll I've rebooted four times and I can't get it to start installing.Anyone got any ideas please?I am really starting to get hacked off with this game.Rob

Hi Rob,Thought I'd have a search re your problem, came up with this info:http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...B;en-us;q228985a guy posted this at microsoft.public.games, it was back in 2002 but it may help you out."I too had problems; error message stated that resource.dll file or something like that could not be found. I followed the steps outlined in the link below: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...B;en-us;q228985 Although the error message I got wasn't shown in listing of possible error messages, the fix worked and the game loaded."I've never seen this error, had a few others along the way tho, so can't really offer further assistance, good luck anyways hope it works for you. PS found another link:http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=262622
