July 6, 200718 yr Hey All,I have a question about parking. When an AI plane comes in, for example a United jet into Los Angeles, ATC always sends him to the United gates(I have an AFCAD for LAX to do that). When ever I fly in and request a taxi to the gate, they send me to another airlines gates. I just requested a taxi to the gate and was told to go to gate 71 which is the Alaska Airlines terminal. How do I make it so I can go to the correct gate. My United plane with United AI planes and any other time with any other airline.-Thanks, Nick
July 6, 200718 yr Hi,Parking is done by the plane radius and the parking spot radius. You would need to set United parking to a radius and then change the United planes to that radius.I don't think you can ever set your user plane up, but I could be wrong. Reggie will be along with more about this.Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
July 6, 200718 yr Jim is correct - parking codes do not work for the user aircraft.Your aircraft will be assigned to the first open parking spot of the appropriate size in the list of parking spots.
July 6, 200718 yr So basically, if I want to go to the correct gate, I should just taxi there and see if there is an open gate. Can't you though make your aircraft go to the correct gate using Ultimate Traffic or am I wrong. I always thought the "parking" option was to set your aircraft up so when ATC heard "United" ,for example, they would tell you to go to the correct gate where all the United AI planes are. I may be wrong.-Nick
July 6, 200718 yr Hi Nick,Not a user plane, but you are correct, you are free to taxi to any gate you wish and nothing "bad" is going to happen. If you saw this in the past it was due to "luck" and not because of anything in FS or UT.Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
July 7, 200718 yr Cool. Thanks. I was wondering that because I finally finished my first long distance trip (PHNL-LAX) and was disappointed when I didn't go to the United gates. Anyhoo, thanks.-Nick
