July 29, 200718 yr On some of my aircraft models, during my initial climb, the autopilot seems to 'hunt' for my pre-set thrust level and the thrust levels fluctuates up and down til I reach somewhere between FL100 and FL150, then it smooths out. Other models keep it constant. Is there anything I can change to avoid the 'thrust level hunt'?Thanks
July 30, 200718 yr A good question, Im sorry I dont have a solution either but this is an issue that plagues some of my planes and it is very distracting. The 50N 737s are among them - the levers look like they are pistons! Hope someone has a solution!!
July 30, 200718 yr I assume this is happening when you fly on the AP's IAS-Hold ?This problem is mostly caused by wrong flightdynamics (usually with over-powered aircraft FDE's).Besides changing these flightdynamics (which is complex to do properly), one general thing that reduces this "hunting" effect is changing a value in the Autopilot section of the aircraft.cfg:max_throttle_rate=Reducing this value from the commonly-used value of 0.1 to e.g. 0.03 will give a much better result.Cheers, Rob
