Adding New Parking Options in the ATC Window

Featured Replies

I have been adding some new parking spots using the AFCAD utility. I can select the parking spot in the airport menu, as a starting position, but I do not see the parking spot as a menu option in the Taxi to Parking atc window. Does anyone know how I can add the parking spot as an atc option? Robert W

you cannot request a specific parking spot from FS's ATC. you get assigned a space that is available that will fix the plane (size) you are flying (or taixing as the case may be).your work to add spots with AFCAD only makes more spaces available. this works very well if you wish to run higher numbers of AI aircraft.--

Roger, thanks for the info! Robert W

Hi Robert,If you care to use AFCAD2 to make a couple of modifications, then you can come up with a scheme that will accomplish your goal. I used AFCAD2 to reduce the radius of my desired parking space to a value smaller than my smallest AI airplane, then using AFCAD2 again, reduced the size of my plane to match that parking spot. Because no other plane could use the resized spot, then it was always available to me and I usually was directed to that spot. The two disadvantages that I noticed were:1. The plane's image was hugh in the preview screen and2. AI planes would get too close to me when we were taxiing.A small price, I thought. I believe there are other ways to accomplish this. You might check at Project AI for more ideas.R-
