Recently I have lost 'SOME' sound in FS9 mainly the ATC which stubbournly remains silent yet is fully functional, additionally engine noise except for props has alos been lost, reinstalled fs9 and all my add-ons with no effect on the problem, A recent update too the main board driver suite may be the cause but cannot estabish why this would be as everything that is installed is registered as fully functional and works in other applications. any ideas would be useful

There's a good chance that your audio CODEC's are corrupted.
