Transition Altitude in FS9 changing the default value ?

Recommended Posts

Hello experts, per default, the transition altitude in FS9 is set to 18000 ft. FS9 writes a message onto the screen, if the manual setting of the barometric pressure in a certain flight phase does not correspond to this value. In Europe however, the transition altitude often is only 5000 to 8000 ft (as, for instance, Radar Contact tells and requires). My questions: a) Is it possible to change the FS9 default value of 18000 ft manually (either in general or for a given loaded flight) to a selected value (like 6000 ft) ?:( If not, is it possible to skip the warning message (and ONLY THIS ONE) from the screen (since, as is well known, FS9 allows for a GENERAL skipping of all flight tips) ?Thanks, and regards,Gerhard.Gerhard Berendtberendt@zedat.fu-berlin.de

Hi Gerhard,No, I don't believe it is possible to change the global Transition Altitude in FS9 and that remains the case with FSX. I doubt it's possible to work around this either. As you're aware of Radar Contact I would suggest you use that as you clearly take your flying seriously. It is superior to the default ATC in so many other areas too.Cheers,
