I just noticed that when I hit shift+z I no longer get the fps readout on the top screen. Thought the keyboard was at fault and changed keyboards and problem still is there.Any ideas how to restore the shift+z function?Thanks!

Check your keyboard assignments.Start FS9. Under Settings, Controls, Assignments, Buttons/Keys, scroll down to Coordinates/Frame rate (cycle). Check to see if Shift+z is listed.
