February 12, 200818 yr Hello,I've noticed that when I am flying the PSS Concorde, the M/CG light is always flashing and a bell/chime type sound keeps going every 5 seconds. What does it means. The bell sounds like an old version of the seatbelt/no smoking warning sound.
February 12, 200818 yr It means your center of gravity if to far forward and need to move fuel to the aft tanks.Everything should be explained in your manual. Clarke Kruger - CYEG
February 13, 200818 yr Moderator Hi,As Clarke has said it's because the centre of gravity (CoG) is not correct. Concorde did not have elevators to trim the aircraft in flight so in order to maintain the correct attitude the fuel was moved around to keep CoG between the required limits.Try turning on the Virtual Flight Engineer (VFE) and this will distribute the fuel and may stop the warning. You can also download my Concorde Fuel Calculator from the AvSim Library and this will help with fuel loading. Just search for my name and you should find it.Flying this aircraft really does require detailed knowledge. Reading the excellent manual is essential.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). February 13, 200818 yr I remember there was an issue with the PSS CoG when crossing the atlantic though i cant remember the solution .Have a look on the PSS boards under the concorde section, Im sure you will find something there even though you can no longer post there. As an option ,IF you have fuelled the concorde properly ie, not the fs fuel loader , and your VFE cant keep up with the fuel Balance ,on the lower overhead panel press the cancel button then the inhibit button .This at least will stop the bell warning but the CoG light will still flash Keep an eye on the fuel panel to see if the VFE is doing his jobI have had this issue a couple of times but eventually the VFE seems to get his act together in the end .Not a great solution I know but anything is better than "the machine that goes ping " Mark:-)
