February 26, 200818 yr Hi, I uninstalled FSX and then ran the Flight1 FS9 registry repair tool Afterwards Cloud 9 KLAX and EHAM weren't showing up,I unstalled and re-installed them and now they are working. After doing all of this,When i start fs9 at any airport and with any aircraft after a second or two i get a CTD without an error message. I am at a loss as to why.How do i diagnose this problem? Has this happened to anyone else? I even tried to restore the computer to before uninstalling FSX but the computer won't do this. Would a cleanup and defrag of the computer help? thanks for any help Simon.
February 26, 200818 yr Yes, a defrag might help.If it doesn't, I would quit FS, rename the fs9.cfg file to fs9.cfg.old and restart FS. This should create a new "fresh" copy.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
February 28, 200818 yr Hi,Thanks for your help Tom. I defragged and let FS9 regenerate the CFG.I worked better but still CTD after about 5 mins.I am really not sure why it is doing this and how to diagnose the problem. If anybody has any idea's i would appreciate your help. Thanks ,Simon.
February 29, 200818 yr Hi,I ran FS9 with filemon running in the back ground and noticed that it was looking for the level D 767 ini file despite me not flying that aircraft at that time.WHY ?.Also just before it CTD filemon indicated it was looking for spyware doctor files,WHY? Thanks, Simon.
February 29, 200818 yr Hi,You apparently have a background program running that causes FS to CTD when it "activates" after a certain time. You will need to stop this program before running FS. Try shutting down your antivirus and anti-spyware programs first (after disconnecting from the net).Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
