May 2, 200818 yr Hi guys, is there any way while in windowed mode to prevent FS from muting the sound when I switch to another window? I've got the 'pause on task switch' box unticked and it keeps running fine when I switch but without sound I don't know whether ATC is speaking to me or not.Just that sometimes on a long IFR leg I'd like to be able to switch to email or Firefox in between. Thanks in advance.Cheers, Bruce :)
May 2, 200818 yr Hi,No, because Windows plays the sound from an active window only. BUT, you can undock the ATC window and drag it around your screen so you can watch that. I sometimes drag mine to my second monitor.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
May 2, 200818 yr Hi Jim, thanks for the reply...I guessed it might be something like that.Undock the ATC window? In FS9? Hmm, might try that.Cheers, Bruce :)
May 3, 200818 yr You can also surf the net and check your email with one of those kneeboard proggies that includes a web browser..description:"A general utility for Flight Simulator 2004 kneeboard. It provides a full web browser with back and forward buttons, a user friendly interface, a print function for webpages, documents and images, quick acces to weather and chart services, a online logbook, chat and forum, a chart viewer, a notepad for writing down frequencies, aircrft checklists and many other functions, all this inside flight simulator without having to minimize it by using the kneeboard. You can browse the internet, search for charts and metar reports, print them and even move file and folder in the computer while flying at 35000 ft. without ever seeing the desktop."
