March 18, 200323 yr Hello!I'm planning to move to a new and much bigger haddrive in the colse future. Now my only problem is, how to avoid a complete reinstall of fs2002 - esspecially the loads of add-ons I have already installed???I was thinking abot the following:- Install fs2002 normally (so it registers in the rgistry and so on)- Then copy my old installation over the new one. So all the configs and scenerys and planes are there in the right place.Could this work?Or has anyone else a better "guide" ???Thanks in advance!
March 18, 200323 yr Hi,Yes, that works perfectly assuming your other hardware / Windows version remains the same.I have just done the same, when going from a WIndows98SE to a new XP system. The only thing I had to rebuild was the fs2002.cfg file (since that contains a videocard definition and different controller id's)Rob
March 18, 200323 yr Hi,on the PSS site http://www.phoenix-simulation.co.uk/ you can download a little utitily that changes the registry settings of FS2002 when you moved MSFS to another partition. No need to reinstall.Good luck,Michael
