Super High FPS

Featured Replies

In a prior thread- "FSX to FS9", djt01 spoke of the merits of very high frame rates on his system and pointed to an interesting article on this subject. Well worth reading. This brought recollections of another long ago article in the old MicroWings magazine. Here, Bruce Artwick spoke of the future & told of a Hollywood demo for a new super fast movie film projection system. Hollywood execs and tech gurus were gathered in a theatre to witness this breakthrough technology which used projector frame rates in excess of 70, plus very high intensity illumination.Shortly after the film commenced, to the consternation of all, fire broke out in the projector and burning film could be clearly seen on the screen. The projection then stopped suddenly and a technician in lab coat came onto the stage to apologize for the demo failure.Only after he spoke did the audience realize that he was not a real human but part of the continuing film demo!!! There was no fire and the audience had been duped!! That's realism.----------Clearly there is remarkable potential for super high (SH)Frame Rates. Now if we could combine SHFPS with the wide, lifelike Field of View possible with multiple monitors we would be really onto something!!!Imagine synched triple views @ 70+ FPS on a 48" High Def TV screen!Alex Reid
