Adding Airport Objects

Featured Replies

I have been exploring options to add airport objects such as localizer/glidepath antennas, VORs, etc to work with my modified afcad file One was to use the Object Placement tool, I was very glad initially but then it required me to upgrade my sdk to sp2 which was waste of time downloading 400mb of sp1a+sp2 for a single dll upgrade. Then I came across abacus scenery shortcut 'free' and surprisingly didnt find any download link but a mess of payment details for $0.Please could anyone shed light on a simillar tool or on how to get this free tool.

If you don't want to go the payware route, which would be Instant Scenery by Flight1, there are a couple of freeware options. Airport Design Editor does object placement and is available from the library here at Avsim. Or you could look at Whisplacer, which does object placement, with a live preview ability in FSX. It's available here; http://lc0277.nerim.net/wiki/index.php?whisplacer The manual has disappeared from the web site, but if you can get the hang of how it works it's a very good tool for placing objects, making generic buildings and the likes.

I use Whisplacer and particularly like the 'live preview' mode.I also use SBuilderX and also ADE. FSXPlanner from time to time. Paul
