If you are talking about physical gates that aircraft taxi to and passenger deplane from, then you would need to use add-on scenery that a third-party has designed with the gates.Another answer is to increase your scenery settings in settings, display, scenery complexity to very dense or extremely dense. However, increasing the complexity will cause your system to lose FPS due to the added scenery complexity.If you are talking about additional gates for AI aircraft to park, then you need to download AFCAD by Lee Swordy, and either add the gates yourself or download an updated AFCAD file for your airport. Remember, AFCAD files only add parking spaces, it doesn't add the scenery feature or the physical gate.
