Something New For Fsx

Featured Replies

Hi,Looking to finally upgrade to FSX and therefore a new system is needed!!Just want to get some views and thoughts about this system I am thinking of:Intel

I would go with the Geforce model...FSX is very cpu-bound, as the below benchmarks show (even at high resolutions, where the GPU supposedly is more important in a game's performance)http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/gaming-...-X-SP2,785.html

That review is total Bull #$%&. All Toms is trying to do is to push whatever VC he has drawn out of his hat at the current time. I dont rely on any of his VC reviews as there are way too many factors to consider when testing. The VC is a small part of FSX although a important one it is not as important as other areas such as CPU, Mem, and how or if the system has been tuned properly. For instance I have a 8600 GT SSC edition and have NEVER EVER seen 2.5 FPS ANYWHERE even with ALL sliders maxed. This forum is the best place to get accurate real life data on video cards IMO. If you are going i7 the GTX 260 or 280 would be the way too go.
