Mark Forum Read When Leaving It

First of all I have to say I really LOVE the new forum software! Actually, I stopped visiting this forum earlier this year because I absolutely hated the old software... Compared to other forums it was so incredibly er... er... well, never mind, it sucked so bad that I just didn't visit this forum anymore.Just before christmas I bought the PMDG MD-11. To my shock I found out the supportforum was over here... But when I clicked the link on their site I found out the link didn't work... (It still doesn't: I told them they have the old link on their site, but apparently they don't know how to change it... :( it's the link at the top of this page. The one at the bottom is ookay, I found out later.) So I Googled and found this brand new forum... WOW! From one of the crappiest AVSIM has turned into one of the best forums around! Awesome!!!Okay, but I didn't come here to post just that of course. :( This forumsoftware is so good that the option I am missing will surely be there, but I just can't see it... :( : whenever I leave the forum I would like it to be marked as read. Almost all forums I visit have this option, but I can't find it anywhere in the My control pages. Am I missing something or is this option not available? Right now I use the (luckily available) option to manually mark forums read, but automatic would be nicer.

Thanks for coming back and we are glad you like the new forums. Not all forum software can handle the scale of an AVSIM Community. We knew we had to change the forum software, but it took us awhile to find the software that could handle to the load and provide the functionality we were looking for. IPBoard did the trick for us.Anyway, to answer your question; yes, you can do that. When you are in the forum (not in a message), you will see the OPTIONS switch at the top. Press that and you will get a drop down:<

Thanks for the answer, Tom! And I am glad to be back. But er... you probaly missed what I said in my OP:"Right now I use the (luckily available) option to manually mark forums read, but automatic would be nicer.":( Anyway, I understand there is no option to do this automatically.BTW That link to that picture gives me an error:Sorry, but you do not have permission to use this feature. If you are not logged in, you may do so using the form below if available. Not that I need to see it (I already know what it looks like :( ), but it's weird I can't see it!

Understood, and yes, if that feature exists, I haven't found it yet. Can you see the image now?
