Question about touring the planes

Featured Replies

i see that a lot of the payware (and some quality freeware) aircraft have fully modeled and textured interiors for all areas of the plane. Can also see videos of them walking through. Question is, can you actually go into the passenger cabins yourself whilst playing? Can't find the option anywhere in the controls. If not, what do they go to all the effort of modeling and texturing it all when you can never actually see it? Not to mention the massive impact these quality aircraft have on performance.

Actually, you can ... by using your seat controls. Experiment with Ctrl-Backspace, Shift-Backspace, Ctrl-Enter and Shift-Enter (these move you up down and foward and back in your seat.) Once back in the back, you can swivel your view using Mouse Look. There may be other, better ways to do this, but this is how I do it.This method works best on longer flights where you have an autopilot flying your aircraft. In real life, it is not uncommon for the captain to "tour" his aircraft in this manner once the aircraft has reached cruising altitude.

Thanks for the reply, figured out how to move into the cabin using those keys, problem is they move so slowly so it takes you 5 minutes just to get halfway down the plane. Is there any way to speed this process up?
