FS2002 will not install

Featured Replies

A friend of mine purchased a brand new copy of FS2002Pro & cannot get it to install. The 1st & 2nd disc load fine, but disc 3 loads until it reaches 53%, & then the install freezes, right at a file named honalulu.cab. His OS is WindowsME if this helps. Incidently, I tried loading on my machine and it worked fine. (WindowsXP). If anyone else has had this problem please clue me in on what's wrong. :-hmmm

I've not had that problem, but here are some ideas.1) Okay, start off by doing a complete uninstall of FS2K2 from that computer. After it's uninstalled, go back and delete all the folders it created as well.2) Update your anti-virus software definitions and scan your hard drive.3) Defrag your hard drive.4) Make sure you have enough free space on your hard drive5) Get ready to reinstall...disable your anti-virus software, and stop any other programs you have running in the background.6) If you want, try doing a custom install of FS2K2 and leave out the Hawaii area :-) or else cross your fingers and try a full uninstall again.Good luck! (Yeah I know it's not YOUR hard drive, but you know what I mean) ;-)

Thanks for your input. I'll give it a shot and hope for the best. I may try installing it in his other drive bay in case the one I did first was dirty or not reading the disc properly. Again, thanks :-beerchug

Thanks for the link. I'm going to check it out.:-)
