January 17, 200917 yr Author For the benefit of those few that might be curious how to make legacy applications work in a 64-bit environment here is the solution:Download VirtualPC 2007 from Microsoft (it IS free). Make sure you select the 64-bit installer.Install an older OS (had problems with XP but Windows 2000 worked great).Install legacy application in virtual OS.Install Virtual Machine additions.Under "Settings>shared folders" map the data on your host (64-bit) machine so that the virtual OS can run it. Point your application to the data.Run application in Virtual OS manipulating data in host (64-bit) OS.Done.
