VFR Photographic Scenery GenerationX 2 map view issues anyone?

Featured Replies

Seeing as the forum admins are taking their time to process forum registrations, I'm unable to access the Horizon Simulations support forums about problems I'm having with this product. So I thought I'd throw open my question to the knowledgeable crowd here at AVSIM.I've just installed VFR Photographic Scenery GenerationX version 2, Volumes 1 and 2 and whenever I go to the Map view, or view the map in the Flight Planner view, the area I'm flying over is covered in square areas of water. Looking out the cockpit though, everything is fine, so it just seesm to be a problem with the renderinf in map view. When I disable (or uninstall) the addon, the Map view is back to normal.Anyone else have this issue? There's certainly no mention of this potential issue in the marketing hype so I'm gpoing to be truly ###### if it's something you only find out you have to live with after buying the product :)

I get the same thing, I guess it's by design.

I have this too. It's a side effect which they can't solve. Everyone has it. Has something to do with limitations of FSX, I don't really know. It's not THAT important to me, though: as long as everything is looking good while flying, I don't care.

Thanks for the confirmations. This at least reassures me that something was not wrong with my installation that could cause potential problems in other areas. It would have been prudent for Horizon Simulations to at least acknowledge this as a known issue on the website and in the documentation. If it's an FSX engine limitation then it's not really their issue, but not listing it could lead someone to waste time trying to fix it by messing around with layering or even total reinstalls on the assumption that something went wrong during installation and configuration.
