February 3, 200917 yr Commercial Member Hi,I have been programming gauges for FS9 and FSX for years now (C & C++) and with the latest developments in MS, I got interested in X-Plane. I just purchased version 9.22 and wanted to see how X-Plane gauges are programmed and to possibly port my FS gauges to X-Plane in the future.I understand X-Plane uses what they call "plug-ins" (.dll's ?) to create gauges. I also found the SDK v.2 on the website but what I am looking for is a basic tutorial with some simple examples to get me started.Does the plug-in use Macro based systems or can you use GDI+ to draw everything you want ? What about the sound system, is that DirectSound based ? Or is everything OpenGL ? (have no experience with that but I'm open to anything)Basically what i'm looking for is a "Programming gauges for dummies" style manual for use with X-Plane.Thanks for pointing me in the right direction !Bj Bj
