Cannot update the user position at offset. [FS2004]

Hi, I am trying to get my gauge to update the user position, (in C++, but I don't think it really matters).I can read the values I need. but I don't seem to be able to update them. For example, the altitude is at offset 0x20ce3574, I can read the value, but I cannot set it.It seems to be overwritten/reset all the time.I have tried with/without slew and/or pause to no avail. Is there a command/function to force FS2004 to rescan the values? How can I update the values directly?Falling that, is there a way to set the user lat/lon/alt, (yes, I know the one about FSUIPC :))?Many thanks in advance.Sims

Hi Sims.FS2004 had a different trick to setting the aircraft position from earlier sims. Peter Dowson cracked it for FSUIPC, but no one else seems to have solved it.If you contact Peter at his forum, he may help... or maybe he'll just keep the secret.Dick
