Multiplayer range

Featured Replies

In FS 2002 the multiplayer range (to see other aircraft) was 40 NM, but in FS 2004 it is (apparantly) reduced to 10 NM.We often fly with a group of pilots on the internet, but in FS 2004 I can not see anyone further away than 10 NM.How can I change this setting? (to 20 NM or 40 NM)?PaulusP

hi,Well I don't know but in real life spotting an aircraft at more than a few nautical miles away is not easy...to say the leastHaving said that , which does not help you much, you can use fsnav which gives you multiplayers' aircraft positions. Problem, it is no longer buyable.there is also eric marciano's radar which you can find here http://emarciano.free.fr/RadarV20.htm .it's payware but it costs nearly nothingbye

If you have the text over the aircraft turned on, you can 'extend' your range by using top-down viewl I can go from any view to this topdown. But the beauty is that I go to a full screen top down, not a small window. And switching views back and forth is instantaneous. No hunting for keyboard presses (and errors it causes). Fast, reliable, and simple to do. My favorite 'tweak' to flying 'techiques' for FS9.Assign a button on joy (I use button #2) and you're all set. Then zoom in/out to locate other a/c. This is also very useful to line up to runways if handflying into strips or into secluded small airports (bush flying). (ALMOST as good as FSNav-heehee). To get back to (2D/VC/Spot) view just press #2 button and you are back. (This is my first post).Chuck BNapamule
