May 5, 200323 yr Hopefully someone can help with the following problem, after all a complete re-install hasn't helped. The rudder control on the planes is very erratic, in fact is more often than not stuck on full right. Sometimes I can get it back to straight, but then after a random time it will jump back to full right. The joystick is fully calibrated in Windows XP Home, with no obvious problems. In the joystick tab of FSUIPC I can set the range for max and min, but it doesn't solve the problem. I have also checked the spike option for rudder, again no success. I have noticed that the numbers in the FSUIPC boxes are not very stable (is this the problem).I am hoping that someone can help, as at the moment flying is impossible. All other software that I can check the joystick in is fine, such as CFS3 and IL-2.Thanks in advance for any suggestions. As I stated above I have done a complete re-install of FS2002, deleted ini files for all sorts, checked various forums, searched etc, but no solutions seem to help.
May 5, 200323 yr Author Hopefully, by a complete reinstall of fs2002, you mean you delete any residual fs2002 folders remaining on your hardrive after the uninstall. If not, you might have left the problem intact if you installed to the same location. When you say the numbers aren't very stable in FSUIPC, which numbers are you talking about? Is it with the joystick centered and no twist on the twist grip? If so, you may have to provide a dead band. Follow the instructions in the FSUIPC user's guide for setting the deadband. You might also want to make the following changes in your fs2002.cfg file:[JOYSTICK_MAIN {Your joystick nomenclature number}]LOCKED=1AXIS_EVENT_00=AXIS_AILERONS_SETAXIS_SCALE_00=127AXIS_NULL_00=0AXIS_EVENT_01=AXIS_ELEVATOR_SETAXIS_SCALE_01=127AXIS_NULL_01=0AXIS_EVENT_02=AXIS_THROTTLE_SETAXIS_SCALE_02=127AXIS_NULL_02=0AXIS_EVENT_05=AXIS_RUDDER_SETAXIS_SCALE_05=127AXIS_NULL_05=0Note: The FSUIPC guide uses different numbers than the above.
