FSX settings for night flights?

Do variables such as texture and mesh have any relevance in night flights? I would like to be able to keep my night-lit VC as good as possble, and city lighting as realitic as possible while in cruise (high alt jet), and am wondering if I should be lowering some of the settings for better performance?Thanks, Bruce.
